Hua Hin Night Market

Hua Hin Night Market takes place along the stretch of Dechanuchit Alley, Soi 72, running from the well-known Petchkasem Road to the railway line. Conveniently located in the center of Hua Hin, not to far from Clock Tower, it's not only the city's most popular street market, but one of the favorite night spots to stroll and meeting place for tourists after sunset. When the sun goes down the Dechanuchit Alley is completely closed to traffic and becomes the focal point for numerous sellers that line up both side of the street with their stalls. Like other Thai street markets, the types of goods that can be found on stalls include consumer goods, souvenirs, local handicrafts, jewelery, CDs, DVDs, beachwear, shoes and clothing, including counterfeit articles like T-shirts, handbags and so on. However, when taking a stroll through the stalls to buy some small gifts and you feel the aroma of tasty grilled seafood, it's easy to understand what the peculiarity of this night market is. Although most of the food sold here can be found elsewhere in the city, the superb selection of seafood offered at the Hau Hin Night Market and intense flavors of food are second to none. The street is filled with countless stalls selling fresh fish and crustaceans that are quickly cooked and served to you within a matter of minutes. The ice trays packed with freshly caught fish, crab, giant prawns, lobsters, cuttlefish and squid might help to influence your choice, though usually bigger is better. Furthermore, there is a vast array of stalls offering snacks and Thai favorite dishes, including Pad Thai, oyster omelet, stewed pork shank on rice, chicken on rice, noodles, fish balls and pork skewers, while others sell sticky rice and mango, desserts, ice cream, smoothies and fresh fruit. In addition, just behind the stalls, there are many restaurants that draw the attention of visitors eager to enjoy quality dishes. The seafood restaurants set along the Dechanuchit Alley are incredibly popular due to their atmosphere, quality of food and low prices. Most of them are both restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail while watching the crowds stroll up the street, and many also has a small vending station outside where food is both prepared and sold. Despite the large number, the stalls and restaurants are always crowded with Thai and foreign customers waiting for eating or shopping. Every evening shopkeepers start setting up their stalls at around 6pm and majority is ready to trade just before 7pm. Most street vendors will start to break down at approximately 11pm; however some stalls selling food will stay open until dawn.
Opening time: Hua Hin Night Market is open daily 18:00 to 23:00.
